August Market Adventures with MVR Designs

August is always one of my favourite months — long sunny days, vibrant community events, and the perfect mix of fairs, festivals, and markets that bring people together. This year is no exception. MVR Designs is packing up the booth, loading the displays, and heading out across the Fraser Valley and beyond for a full month of summer fun. If you love handmade goods, local artisans, and lively outdoor events, here’s where you’ll find us all month long.

Chilliwack Fair — August 7–9

There’s nothing quite like the Chilliwack Fair. From the moment the gates open, Heritage Park fills with families, food trucks, live entertainment, and that unmistakable fair energy. We’ll be set up from 9am–9pm on Friday and Saturday, and 9am–5pm on Sunday, surrounded by the sights and sounds of one of Chilliwack’s most beloved annual traditions.

Whether you’re stopping by between rodeo events or wandering through the vendor aisles with a lemonade in hand, come say hi — we’ll have fresh new pieces, seasonal favourites, and a few surprises ready for the weekend crowd.

Chilliwack Flight Fest — August 16

If you’ve never experienced Flight Fest, this is your year. The Chilliwack Airport transforms into a celebration of aviation, community, and summer excitement. From 11am–5pm, you can watch aircraft demonstrations, explore displays, and enjoy the festival atmosphere.

We’ll be set up right next to the runway with a curated selection of handmade goods perfect for festival-goers. It’s a one‑day event, so be sure to swing by while the engines are roaring and the skies are buzzing.

Market in the Park — August 14 & 28

Hope’s Memorial Park is one of those places that feels like summer even before you arrive. On August 14 and 28, from 9:30am–2:30pm, the park fills with local makers, fresh produce, and friendly faces. It’s the kind of market where you can stroll slowly, chat with vendors, and enjoy the relaxed pace of a small-town community gathering.

We’ll be bringing a mix of customer favourites and new seasonal designs — perfect for gifting, decorating, or treating yourself.

Maple Ridge Sunflower Festival — August 22 & 23

Sunflowers, sunshine, and summer magic — the Maple Ridge Sunflower Festival is one of the most beautiful events of the season. From 10am–6pm, visitors wander through fields of golden blooms, take photos, enjoy live entertainment, and browse a vibrant vendor market.

We’ll be set up among the flowers at 12377 248th Street, surrounded by colour and creativity. If you’re looking for a weekend outing that feels like stepping into a postcard, this is the one.

Hope Farmer’s Market — August 30

We’re wrapping up the month back in Hope at Memorial Park for the Hope Farmer’s Market from 10am–2pm. It’s a wonderful way to close out August — fresh produce, handmade goods, and the warm community spirit that makes Hope such a special place.
